Lagos, Nigeria—The Bountiis Virtual Muslimah Ramadan Conference 2025, held on February 23, 2025, brought together Muslim women from across the world to discuss resilience, faith, and practical strategies for navigating Ramadan amidst economic challenges.
With the theme “Resilience in Ramadan: Thriving Through Economic Trials,” the conference delivered insightful discussions on spiritual growth, financial management, mental wellness, parenting, and social resilience—equipping women with the tools to make the most of Ramadan despite economic constraints.

During the conference, Dr. Azeezat Lebimoyo, a Consultant Psychiatrist at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria, cautioned women against engaging in ego-driven community activities during Ramadan, warning that such commitments often lead to unnecessary financial strain.
“Many women, in an attempt to uphold societal expectations, overcommit to extravagant charitable gestures, excessive hosting, or competitive giving, which can cause financial pressure and emotional exhaustion,” Dr. Lebimoyo stated.
She further advised women to be intentional about their financial and emotional well-being, emphasizing that “true generosity is not measured by extravagance but by sincerity and sustainability.” By setting healthy financial boundaries and contributing in practical, meaningful ways, women can avoid undue stress and maintain a balanced, spiritually fulfilling Ramadan.
Similarly, Mrs. Shakirah Olajobi, a parenting coach, educational psychologist, and CEO of Brainy Educare in Nigeria, encouraged parents to actively involve their children in family budgeting for Ramadan to manage expectations and ease financial pressures.
“Children often develop expectations based on societal influences or past experiences. If parents fail to meet these expectations due to financial limitations, it can lead to disappointment or tension within the home,” she noted.
She stressed that open discussions about finances would help children develop financial awareness, gratitude, and contentment, ensuring a more harmonious and mindful Ramadan experience.
“By involving children in budgeting decisions, they learn the importance of prioritization, delayed gratification, and making the most of available resources. Families should focus on the essence of Ramadan—spiritual growth, gratitude, and togetherness—rather than material excess,” she added.
The conference featured a stellar lineup of speakers, including Professor Jameelah Omolara Yaqub, Dr. Azeezat Lebimoyo, Mrs. Shakirat Olajobi, Hajia Madinah Adegboyega, Hajia Sidiqqah Lawal, Hajiah Madinah Mimiko and many more.
Throughout the sessions, speakers shared faith-driven insights and practical tools to help Muslim women prioritize their ibaadah (worship), manage their finances, strengthen family bonds, and overcome societal pressures, ensuring they maximize the spiritual and personal benefits of Ramadan.

Beyond the live sessions, Bountiis announced that content from the event will be repurposed into educational materials to be shared throughout Ramadan, allowing even more women to benefit from the impactful discussions during the sacred month.
Speaking after the event, the Programme Coordinator, Dr Maryam Adekola Alatishe, expressed Bountiis’ gratitude for the overwhelming participation and engagement from speakers, attendees, and volunteers.
“This conference was more than just an event—it was a movement. The goal was to equip Muslim women with the knowledge and strength to face Ramadan with faith, confidence, and resilience. We are grateful for the speakers, the audience, and the entire Bountiis community for making it a success,” the statement read.
Bountiis remains committed to empowering Muslim women through education, mentorship, and support, ensuring that every woman can thrive spiritually, emotionally, and financially—before, during, and beyond Ramadan.
